Economic Empowerment Program
Women need support to grow and be able to meet their financial obligations for their children to thrive. Under this program, women, the teenage mothers, and girls out of school learn skills such as shoe making, knitting, weaving, climate smart agriculture, and gardening. In addition, they are educated on financial literacy- establishing village savings and loans associations (VSLA), group dynamics, and micro business enterprise management skills. To prevent children from dropping out of school and to improve their well-being, households are encouraged and supported to have an economic activity from which they earn a living on a daily basis. VVIVA therefore designs skilling, VSLA programs, and financial literacy programs to promote self-reliance amongst the women and out of school teenage girls and mothers.
